As the World Cup 2023 is about to start in three months, Babar Azam opens on the IND-PAK clash and says they will they are excited to start after a break. As per ICC World Cup 2023 schedule, India and Pakistan will clash at Ahmedabad Stadium on October 5.

Babar Azam states that Pakistan is fully prepared to face any team at any venue in India during this year’s World Cup on Thursday. Pakistan is scheduled to play against India on the ICC World Cup schedule at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.

As the team eagerly awaited approval from PCB to participate in the tournament, Babar Azam stated Ready to play anyone, anywhere at the conference on Thursday.

This match will mark the first time, as these two teams meet each other’s on Indian grounds since 2012. Pakistan and India usually only encounter each other in international tournaments held at neutral venues due to controversy between these two countries.

“I am thinking that we are going to play the World Cup — not just against India,” he told a news conference Thursday. “We are not focusing on one team. There are nine other teams, so only if we beat them will we reach the final.”

The International Cricket Council rejected Pakistan’s requests for the venue on the announcement of the World Cup schedule last month.

“As professionals, we have to be ready,” Azam said. “Wherever there is cricket, wherever there are matches, we will go and play. We want to perform in every country.”

The new Ahmedabad Stadium will likely prove to be an intense one for a Pakistan-India clash, one of the highlights of the tournament that starts October 5. Before then, Pakistan tour Sri Lanka this month for a two-Test series.

“We are excited to start after a break and are getting ready for the World Cup,” Azam said.

The first Test starts in Galle on July 16 and the second in Colombo on July 24. Pakistan will also feature in the six-nation Asia Cup from August 31 to September 17 which is hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The first four matches will be held in Pakistan, while Sri Lanka will host the remaining nine, including the final.

When did India and Pakistan played their last match

Since the last meeting in T20 World Cup 16th match, India and Pakistan are now about to have a meeting in ICC World Cup 2023 at Ahmedabad on October 15.

The last meeting concluded with the Victory of India with four wickets on hand. The T20 World Cup IND vs PAK concluded with a thrilling victory for India as Ravichandran Ashwin scores the last run in the last ball of the match.

Pakistan’s last visit to India was in 2016 in the T20 World Cup. On T20 World Cup 2016, Pakistan had a match against India on 19/03/2016 at Eden Gardens Kolkata. On the match, India won the match with six wickets remaining in hand.

ICC World Cup 2023

The ICC World Cup 2023 is about to be hosted by India and ten teams are about to participate in the tournament happening between October 5 and November 19, 2023.

As per Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 schedule, they will play their first match against Netherlands on October 6 in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

India as the host nation has secured direct Qualification along with the teams Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa.

They are selected through their performance in the 2020-2023 ICC Cricket Super League. The remaining two teams will be selected as the finalist of ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2023.
