Australia T20 World Cup 2024 Jersey: For the first time in T20 World Cup history, the Australia Cricket Team is set to wear a green coloured playing kit for the 2024 edition of the tournament.
As per the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 schedule, Australia will play their first match of the tournament against Oman on June 5 in Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
Cricket Australia have launched their official T20 World Cup 2024 Jersey in Green variant instead of their regular design. The switch to all green brings to an end a run of five successive T20 World Cup kits that had been predominantly black, starting in 2012.
Featuring HCLTech logos prominently on the leading sleeve and trunk of the associated training top – as was the case at last year’s ODI World Cup – this kit is collarless. While the women’s version of this kit has a collar, the Aussie men going without one is not without precedent.
Australia went collarless at the first World T20 tournaments in 2007, and again at the ’09 and ’10 tournaments where an identical kit was used for the two events.
“When you think of green and gold you think of Australia. The black worked for a few years, but now it’s back to green and gold, so that’s great news”, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood said of the new T20 kit.
