    Australia Grapples Against Indian Bowlers Losing 6 wickets Below 50

    After being bowled out for 150 runs, Australia lost a total of 6 wickets below 50 during the first innings of the first test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. For the time since 1980, Australia has struggled a lot as they lost five wickets under 40 runs at home in Test cricket.

    The collapse was followed by Jasprit Bumrah‘s stunning claim on three wickets of Ushman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney and Steven Smith. Meanwhile, Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj joined Bumrah to create destruction in Australia’s batting line up.

    With responding to India’s 150 runs, Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney  opened the innings, but the debutant has been the prey for Bumrah as he lost his wicket for 10 runs. Meanwhile Labuschagne survived after Virat Kohli dropped a catch.

    However, Steven Smith was sent out on a golde duck by Bumrah as the side lost the third wicket for 19 runs. Siraj picked his wicket on a lbw while Usman Khawaja scored 8 runs.

    After Travis Head‘s dismissal for 11 runs by Rana, Siraj picked the wicket of Marsh for 11 runs. With, Australia losing wickets at regular interval, Alex Carey was the one standing at the crease with 19 runs by the end of day 01.

    The hosts lost seven wickets for 67 runs by the end of Day 01. Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bat first with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opening the innings. But the power hitter Jaiswal has been sent out on  8-ball duck by Mitchell Starc.

    Josh Hazlewood aslo joined Starc and opened his account by dismissing Devdutt Padikkal for a 23-ball duck. In a short interval he again picked the wicket of Virat Kohli for 5 runs which made India struggle to lose three wickets for 32 runs.

    After the lunch, India lost 6 wickets for 73 runs, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Reddy on the crease. Mitchell Starc picked two wickets while Josh Hazlewood picked four wickets.

    Finally India scored 150 runs before the visitor wrecking Australian batting line up at Optus.
