Australia will be facing India in the finals of the World Cup 2023 on November 19 in Ahmedabad. India is running an unbeaten winning streak in the group stages and beat New Zealand in the semifinals to secure a spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, the five-time champions were also successful with 7 victories in the group stage and won against South Africa in the semifinals. With huge expectations arising on both sides, the World Cup prediction by Mitchell Marsh goes viral.
He made a prophecy made about six months back and also mentioned the scores as well. While speaking during the IPL season 2023, he predicted that Australia would be facing India in the final. He also mentioned that Australia will be scoring 450 runs while India will be all out for 65 runs. His prediction says that Australia will win the title with a 385-run difference.
“Australia will stay undefeated, defeating India in the final, Australia 450-2 in the final, India all out 65,” said Marsh.
Marsh did get the first part of his prediction correct as their side is the most successful team in World Cup history with five titles (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015), made it to their eighth final after beating South Africa while India reached their fourth after 1983, 2003, and 2011. However, he is yet to find out about the second part of his remark.
Despite his prediction being half true, they will be facing an undefeated so far in the tournament in all 10 games including the 9 matches in round robin stage and one semifinal.
On the other hand, Australia reached the finals on the back of an eight-match winning streak after their defeat against India and South Africa in the first and second games, they bounced back to win all their remaining games.
India will be entering the finals with leading wicket-taker Shami with 23 runs while Jasprit Bumrah has been top-notch as ever with 18 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav and Jadeja contributed their part by dismissing 15 and 16 wickets.
The title clash between these powerhouses will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
