AUS vs IND 1st Test Probable Playing 11; Easwaran, Nitish Likely to Make Debut

AUS vs IND 1st Test Probable Playing 11: With India set to take on Australia in the first Border Gavaskar Trophy test, injury concerns have left the visitors with multiple gaps in the starting lineup.

With Rohit Sharma unavailable for the series opener, Jasprit Bumrah will take over as captain. After a mighty win in the 2020-21 series, the Indian team will be looking to dominate on Australian soil again.

India secured consecutive series wins in Australia (2018-19 and 2020-21) and will be aiming for a straight triumph.

Meanwhile, a news emerged that Shubman Gill had a finger injury while taking a catch in a practice game which virtually ruled him out of action from the first game.

In the absence of Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are likely to hand debut to Devdutt Padikka at Number 03 while Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sai Sudharsan have been asked to return home after India A match.

Padikkal’s form in the practice matches has reportedly made him the front runner to take up the role of an opener alongside Jaiswal.

Kohli will be playing to his number 4 position while Dhruv Jurel’s fine form in the practice matches could see him back in the test side.

Washington Sundar is also expected to play as the lone spinner in the side over Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the bouncy pitch in Perth.
