SA20 Auction 2025 Live Streaming: The third edition of the SA20 league, a franchise T20 cricket league in South Africa is scheduled to be played between 9 January and 8 February 2025.
A total of six teams will feature in the tournament where a total of 34 matches will be played in double round-robin and playoffs format. Ahead of the season’s start, Cricket South Africa decided to organise an auction for the franchise to rebuild their team.

SA20 2025 Auction Process
After successfully being introduced in Season 2, the Rookie player draft will once again feature after the main auction. A Rookie is a South African player aged 22 or under on the day of the auction that has not been contracted to SA20 before.
SA20 2025 Squad composition: All teams of the SA20 2025 are required to include 19 players, with a minimum of 10 South African players, a maximum of seven international players, a Rookie, and a Wildcard player.
What is a Rookie – A South African player aged 22 or younger on the day of the auction and who is new to the Betway SA20 League.
Notably, a player signed up as a Rookie last season cannot be purchased as a Rookie at the auction on October 1 despite still meeting the age requirements.
What is a Wildcard? This is a local or international player whose fee is excluded from the Salary Cap. The deadline for wildcard selection is the 30th of December. (One team – Joburg Super Kings still has the option to include the Wildcard player for Season 3)
