Former Indian cricketer Ashwin has posted a couple of cryptic tweets amid the struggle of Rohit Sharma-side on day 05 of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
The Indian skipper has been struggling for form and despite hard work, the side suffered an 184-run defeat at Melbourne. Rohit adopted a defensive stance and mustered up nine runs after facing 40 deliveries.
After effectively dealing with the pace threat, he decided to take on his counterpart Pat Cummins. In the same over KL Rahul walked back for a five-ball duck. Virat Kohli was next to join them after giving an edge while attempting to drive the ball.
After India seemed to struggle, Ashwin took to X to drop a cryptic post saying, “Good leaders emerge when they show resolve for a scrap.”

After India attempted to make a comeback, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant forged a stand to ensure the visitors remained unscathed.
Australia made a sensational comeback to push India back against the wall. Pat Cummins made a gamble by introducing Travis Head to the ball who then later revealed reason with the ball.
Pant tried to take on but Mitchell Marsh who completed a stunning catch to send the southpaw back to the pavilion.
A few fans took the aforementioned post in a bad spirit and were quick to rebuke the 38-year-old. Ashwin quoted the post with the following reply. “This tweet isn’t for people who own fan clubs.”
Ravichandran Ashwin announced his international retirement in the post-match press conference after the third test at The Gabba ended in a draw due to persistent showers.
He returned to India and said that it was wrong to have a grand farewell. “As far as I am concerned, grand farewells are wrong. I don’t think you should give grand farewell ceremonies to anyone.”
“Especially, I firmly believe that you shouldn’t give me a grand farewell. I don’t want anyone shedding a drop of tear for me. I think grand send-offs are part of a super celebrity culture.”
Ravichandran Ashwin will play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. His availability for Tamil Nadu in the next round of Ranji Trophy matches are yet to be seen.
Coming to the BGT 2024-25, Australia secured a 2-1 lead with a win in the fourth test. The fifth match of the series will begin on January 07 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
