    Arshdeep Singh Becomes India’s Leading Fast bowler; Surpasses Bhuvneshwar Kumar

    The left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh has broken Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record to become the Indian pacer with the most wickets in T20Is.

    Picking 92 wickets in 59 matches, he becomes the leading Indian pacer to have most wickets. He acheived the feat during the 3rd T20I match of India’s tour of South Africa. Arshdeep went past Bhuvneshwar kumar in the elite of Indian bowlers.

    Bhuvneshwar Kumar who played last for India in november 2022, has taked 90 wickets in 86 matches since his debut in 2012. Arshdeep Singh is only behind ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who has 96 wickets to his name in the format.

    Arshdeep Singh began his count by dismissing Ryan Rickelton in the powerplay, utilising the bounce friendly conditions at SuperSport Park to move the new ball effectively.

    His contributions with the old ball proved even crucial as Heinrich Klaasen (44) and Marco Jansen (54) put pressure on Indian bowlers in South Africa’s chase of 220.

    Tilak Varma smashed an unbeaten 107* off 56 deliveries as the side scored 219 runs in 20 overs. Meanwhile Abhishek Sharma also got a half century.

    Tilak Varma was named as the player of the match. While speaking after the match, he said, “I am okay. It was a difficult chance but I am happy we won the game. I cannot put it in words.”

    Leading the series 2-1, India will be play the final T20I match against South Africa on November 15 at Wanderers Stadium.
