    The Mid West Rhinos captain Antum Naqvi made history after scoring an unbeaten 300 runs at any level of cricket.

    During the third day of the Rhinos vs Matabeleland Tuskers Logan Cup Game in Harare on Friday, Antum was with 250 runs with Rhinos scoring 461 runs for 3 wickets after dismissing Tuskers for 128 runs.

    When he passed 265 runs, he broke the records made in the Logan Cup by Cephas Zhuwao during the 2017-18 season.

    Ray Gripper’s unbeaten 279 runs remained as the highest individual score by a Zimbabwean cricket in first-class career during the 1967-68 Currie Cup.

    When he reached 300, he surpassed Brian Davison’s 299 runs which is the highest in the Logan Cup history before it became a first-class competition.

    Naqvi played 295 balls for his triple century, batted for 444 minutes, and hit 30 fours and 10 sixes.

    Mark Richardson had 306 runs for New Zealanders against Zimbabwe during the 2000-01 season. Naqvi might have surpassed the record, but Rhinos declared at 538 runs for 3. Tuskers was at the trail of 267 runs behind on the third day.

    The 11th match of the Logan Cup 2023-24 season will be played between Matabeleland Tuskers and Mashonaland Eagles starting on January 17 at Old Hararians.

    The Zimbabwe National team is currently playing on a Sri Lanka tour where the hosts won the ODI series 2-0 and they are set to play in the T20I series starting on January 14. The first T20I match will kickstart at 07:00 PM IST at R. Premadasa Stadium.
