Akash Deep Apologies to Travis Head after Odd Exchange at Gabba

During India’s valiant fight, Akash Deep apologised to Travis Head after a bizarre exchange on day 05 of the Brisbane test.

Akash Deep who failed up a show with the ball in hand, showed his class with the bat as the Indian bowler came out of syllabus for the Aussie bowler as he smashed 31 runs off 44 balls and helped India to avoid follow-on the third test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

India looked down and out, but the contributions from Ravindra Jadeja and the lower order ensured that India have something to fight for as Australia’s second innings begins with a lead of 185.

Akash Deep bowled well in the game, but the Indian seamer was hilariously involved in a brain fade moment which made Head angry. Nathan Lyon bowled a flighted delivery as Akash went for defensive shot and the ball stuck on the flap of the front pad.

Head wanted Akash to give the ball to him, but the Indian cricketer didn’t notice it as he kept it on the ground. After realising what had happened, the pacer apologised to Head as the two players shared a laugh.

The Indian top order batters failed to put up a fight, as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja as the due scored crucial fifties and the visitors also got massive contributions from Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah. KL Rahul (84 runs) and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (77 runs) left telling contributions.

India resumed on 252-9 in reply to the hosts 445 after the 10th wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash added 47 runs for the 10th wicket as their contribution helped India to avoid the follow-on.

Australia scored 89 runs for 7 wickets before declaring their innings and setting up a target of 275 for India. Jasprit Bumrah picked three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep picked two wickets each during Australia’s second innings.
