The Delhi Capitals opener Abhishek Porel smashes his second fifty of the IPL 2024 season during the match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 14 at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After Jake Fraser-McGurk’s dismissal in the first over of the match, Delhi bounced back with Abhishek Porel’s half-century against Lucknow. He smashed fifty on 21 deliveries in the 8th over of the match.
Abhishek Porel who smashed 269 runs in 13 matches he played, has a strike rate of 156.39. Delhi is playing in the last match of the group stages of the ongoing campaign and they are eyeing for a victory in the match in hopes of reaching playoffs.

Coming to the match, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bowl where Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel opened the innings. The young batter Jake Fraser was sent out on a duck out in the 2nd ball of the first over by Arshad Khan.
After his dismissal, Shai Hope came to bat and joined hands with Abhishek to revive Delhi from early dismissal. They had a partnership score of 92 runs for the second wicket. Ravi Bishnoi bagged Hope’s Wicket for 38 runs in the 9th over.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Porel smashed fifty on 21 deliveries and continued to bat to help the side cross the 100-run mark in the 10th over.
Rishabh Pant scored 33 runs before being dismissed by Naveen-ul-Haq while Tristan Stubbs smashed 57* runs on 25 deliveries. With Axar Patel’s 14* runs, Delhi Capitals scored 208 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs.
With the target of 209 runs, Quinton and KL Rahul opened the innings where both players were sent out with 12 and 5 runs respectively by Ishant Sharma.
After the dismissal of Marcus Stoinis by Axar Patel for 5 runs, Lucknow lost three wickets for 24 runs in the fourth over. Deepak Hooda was sent out on a duck out on a lbw by Ishant.
But Nicholas Pooran’s knock helped the side to recover from early dismissals. Tristan Stubbs dismissed Ayush Badoni for 6 runs in the 8th over.
Lucknow Super Giants crossed a 100-run mark in the 11th over. Nicholas Pooran smashed 61 runs in 27 deliveries before being dismissed by Mukesh Kumar.
After Kuldeep Yadav bagged the wicket of Krunal Pandya for 18 runs, Arshad Khan Smashed 50 in 25 deliveries helping the side to put up a tough fight against Delhi. Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Yudhvir Charak for 14 runs. Lucknow scored 180 runs losing 8 wickets by the end of 18 overs.
Ishant Sharma bagged three wickets while Khalee Ahmed, Axar Patel, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Tristan Stubbs bagged a wicket each.
With Arshad Khan’s 58* runs, Lucknow Super Giants scored 189 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs, and lost the match by 20 overs.
