England cricket team have been awarded 5 penalty runs after Indian batter Ravichandran Ashwin runs on the pitch which will make England to start their inning with 5/0.
5 Penalty Runs Awarded to England
During the 102nd over of the 1st inning, Ravichandran Ashwin is warned by umpire Joel Wilson for running on the middle of the pitch. For which, Ashwin had a word with the umpire while Wilson signalled for 5 penalty runs and England will start their innings at 5/0.
The 3rd Test of England tour of India 2024 was scheduled to be played between February 15 to 19 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot.
Winning the toss India decided to bat first where India’s top order batters struggled to face England bowlers and lost 3 wickets for 33 runs. With Rohit Sharma and Jadeja’s 204-run partnership, India scored 237 runs for the 4th wicket.

Another debutant of the game Dhruv Jurel and experienced Ashwin made 76 runs stand and led India to score 407 runs for 7 wickets. Jurel and Ashwin stand at the crease with 38 and 37 runs respectively while India looks to reach the 450 runs mark in their 1st inning.
