Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced their central contract list for 2024 on February 12. Bangladesh cricket team holds the 9th position in Test and T20I while holding the 8th spot in the ODI format of the game.
Tamim Iqbal Left Out of 2024 Bangladesh Central Contracts
Veteran Bangladesh batter Tamim Iqbal was one of the notable miss in the list. 2023 was tumultuous for Tamim who announced his retirement and reversed his decision within 24 hours before the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.
Later Tamim stepped down from the captaincy two months before the prestigious event. Apart from Tamim Iqbal, Ebadot Hossain, Afif Hossain, and Mosaddek Hossain also miss out on a central contract.

Bangladesh’s newly-appointed captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, received an all-format deal, along with Shoriful Islam. Along with Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, Tanzim Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Naeem Hasan and Nurul Hasan also received the contract.

Bangladesh will host Sri Lanka to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIS, and 2 Test games between March 4 to April 3, 2024. Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium will host the entire series.
