    Sunil Gavaskar was the highest run-scorer for India against West Indies. He has scored 2749 runs in 27 Tests at 65.45 average, 13 centuries, and 7 fifties. Rahul Dravid followed him in scoring 1978 runs in 23 Tests at 63.80 average, five centuries, and 13 fifties.

    VVS Laxman also has a great record against West Indies, scoring 1715 runs in 22 Tests with an average of 57.16, with four centuries and 11 fifties.

    Among the current players of India, Virat Kohli was the highest run scorer who has scored 898 runs in 15 Tests with an average of 44.90, with two centuries, and six fifties.

    For West Indies, Clive Llyod was the highest run scorer with 2344 runs in 28 Tests at 58.60 average, seven centuries, and 12 fifties against India. Shivnarine Chanderpaul has scored 2171 runs in 25 Tests with an average of 63.85, with seven fifties, and ten centuries.

    Viv Richards made 1978 runs in 23 Tests at a 50.71 average, with eight centuries and seven fifties.

    Among the current players, skipper Kraigg Braithwaite was the current highest run scorer who made 475 runs in 12 Tests with an average of 21.59, four fifties.

    Highest wicket takers in IND vs WI

    Kapil Dev was the highest wicket-taker taking 89 scalps in 25 Tests. Anil Kumble stands second having 74 wickets in 17 Tests and Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the third to take 72 scalps in 12 Tests.

    For West Indies, Malcolm Marshall becomes the highest wicket-taker taking 76 wickets in 17 matches. Andy Roberts stands second taking 67 wickets in 14 matches and WW Hall becomes the third wicket keeper taking 65 wickets in 13 matches.

    Jason Holder becomes the current highest wicket-taker for West Indies against India  14 in eight matches.

    “When it comes to technique, you constantly work on that but what stood out for me was that he was much more calm in his approach. He was playing late and closely to the body. He is still batting the same way in the Nets.

    “We hope he will do well. Conditions in South Africa, you will need somebody like him to come good” Rathour said ahead of the second Test.
