Steve Smith Return To IPL: Australian batter Steve Smith confirms that he will feature in the IPL 2023 via a video shared on his official Twitter handle.
Steve Smith last played in the IPL for Delhi Capitals in 2021 and went unsold in the IPL 2022 Auction. After being unsold in the 2022 auction, Steve Smith did not register his name for the IPL 2023 Auction.
As per IPL schedule 2023, the first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31 in Ahmedabad.

But ahead of the much-awaited IPL 2023 season, Steve Smith announced that he is all set to make a return to the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. He played 8 games for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, scoring just 152 runs at a modest strike rate of 112.59.
Steve Smith himself took to Twitter to confirm the news although he did not mention his role. He posted a video on his Twitter handle and said: “Namaste India. I have got some exciting news for you. I am joining IPL 2023. I am joining an exceptional and passionate team in India”.

Following the video, many cricket fans confirm that Steve Smith will be in the commentator’s team for the IPL 2023 season.
