The top order batter Shreyas Iyer has been sold to Punjab Kings for a price of INR 26.75 crore which price has broke the previous highest bid of INR 24.75 crore for Australia Pacer Mitchell Starc.
He was the second buy for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 mega auction after Arshdeep Singh being bought back for INR 18 crore using RTM option.

Shreyas Iyer who led the KKR to the third IPL title in 2024 season, has consistently delivered 3127 runs in 116 matches. He has a solid average of 32.23 and a high score of 96 and has 21 fifties.
His leadership skills has made him a wanted player where Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings engaging in a bidding war for his services. In the end PBKS secured the Indian batter to strength their batting line up.
