Second Most Expensive Player in IPL Auction: The Australian player Cameron Green who can be a partnership breaker becomes the second most expensive player in the IPL 2023 Auction history after being signed by Mumbai Indians for INR 17.50 crores.

The IPL 2023 Auction was successfully staged in Kochi on December 23 as scheduled. The Auction kick-started at 2:30 PM IST and Kane Williamson becomes the first player to go under the hammer and is eventually brought by Gujarat Titans at his base price of INR 2 crore.

In the IPL 2023 Auction, Cameron Green registered at a base price of INR 2 crore. The bidding war starts between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore and the price surpassed INR 7 crores in no time. After reaching INR 7 crore mark RCB parted ways while Delhi Capitals starts the bidding war with Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians travel along with Green’s price moved past multiple record prices and finally bagged the player for INR 17.50 crore.
Regarding the purchase, Akash Ambani said: “Green is someone we’ve tracked for 2-3 years and we thought he’s exactly what we needed. He fits the right age profile for us; we’ve been looking for younger players for a few auctions”.

“I’m pinching myself that this has all happened. It’s such a weird feeling watching an auction for yourself. I can’t believe how nervous I was and I was shaking like anything when the final call was confirmed,” Green said.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of the IPL and it’s going to be so cool to be a part of it. The Mumbai Indians are one of the powerhouses of the competition so I feel very humbled to be joining them. I can’t wait to get there next year”, Green added.
Cameron Green made his international debut for the Australia national cricket team in December 2020. Being a Bowling all-rounder, Green played 8 T20Is and scored 139 runs and bagged 5 wickets at an economy of 8.90.
In eight matches, C Green has a strike of 173.75 and has scored two 50+ scores. Both fifties came against India in November – 61 off 30 balls and 52 off 21 deliveries. He plays for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League but has featured in just nine games so far.
