Royal Challengers Bangalore Batter Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2023 after failing to recover from a Heel injury.
Rajat Patidar Injury Update
Patidar had picked up the injury before joining the Royal Challengers pre-season camp and was advised to rest till mid-April. RCB were recently hoping that the Madhya Pradesh batter would be available to play for them at some stage this season but have now been handed a huge blow.
Rajat Patidar joined Royal Challengers as a replacement midway through the IPL 2022 season following an injury to Luvnith Sisodia. He announced himself in the Eliminator by hitting the fastest hundred by an Indian in the tournament’s history,
Royal Challengers Bangalore, said as much while announcing the update that they “have decided not to name a replacement player for Rajat just yet”.
“Unfortunately, Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of #IPL2023 due to an Achilles Heel injury. We wish Rajat a speedy recovery and will continue to support him during the process. The coaches and management have decided not to name a replacement player for Rajat just yet,” the tweet from RCB read.

Anuj Rawat, Suyash Prabhudessai and Mahipal Lomror are some of the Indian options they have in the squad to fill the void.
RCB who won their opening match against MI comfortably by eight wickets will be without their left-arm pacer Reece Topley. The participation of the Topley remains doubtful for RCB’s next encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 6 in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
