RCB vs SRH Probable Playing 11: Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore has a poor run in the ongoing IPL 2024 campaign. They have secured only one victory out of six matches they played till now.
After suffering defeat against CSK in the opener match of the IPL 2024 tournament, RCB had a victory against Punjab Kings by four wickets which was their only win.
Since then, they suffered defeat in the matches against Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians. On the other hand, Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad had three victories out of five matches they played in the campaign so far.
They won the matches against Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings while suffering defeat in the matches against Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders.
On this occasion, Mo Bobat, the director of RCB cricket said, “There’s no hiding away from the fact that we haven’t played the way we want to play. When you compete, you work out what you think your best chances of winning are.”
“We came into this competition in the last year of an auction cycle, you go to the auction, you improve the team, the best you can, you set the strategy, and you come in and you expect to deliver. Now, we haven’t played the way we want to play,” concluded Mo Bobat.
On the other hand, the SRH head coach Daniel Vettori said, “I think you have to keep challenging yourself to try to take wickets because any team can score that 60-70 at the back-end, in the last four or five overs. So I think no score is safe.”
“And you always feel you’re in the game, particularly when you’re chasing. I think most teams will come here and try to chase because they feel it’s easier to navigate the innings when you know what’s in front of you,” concluded Daniel Vettori.
Currently, SRH has secured the 4th position and RCB has been placed at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
