Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) is one of the eight teams to debut in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008. Since their maiden appearance in IPL 2008, RCB has still been waiting to lift their maiden title in the cash-rich league.
RCB qualified for the playoffs last season but lost the IPL 2024 Eliminator game against Rajasthan Royals and got knocked out of the tournament.
RCB Captain in IPL 2025
Right after a dreadful outing last season, RCB released their captain Faf du Plessis ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Though a piece of news started to spread that Virat Kohli is set to return as RCB captain, the statement remains as rumour as no report has confirmed it yet.
With a mega auction, RCB might rope in a new captain who could win a trophy for the Bengaluru-based franchise in the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction
BCCI planned to host the IPL 2025 mega auction on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the auction, all teams have revealed their retained players list. The two-day Mega Auction will commence at 12:30 PM local time on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
According to the new IPL 2025 retention rules released by BCCI, each team can retain six players from their existing squad, either via retention or by using the Right to Match (RTM) option.
Though this year’s auction was planned to be hosted outside India, fans can still enjoy the IPL 2025 auction live streaming from their home.
