The Tamil Nadu-born right-handed batsman was part of the victorious Tamil Nadu team which won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21 and 2021-22. In IPL 2022 mega auction, CSK initially started the bidding war with KKR where PBKS won the bidding for INR 9 crores to avail his service.
While he was considered to be a major find by Punjab Kings he only managed to score just 98 runs in 7 games before he was dropped.

Tim David – Mumbai Indians

Born in Singapore, Tim David is amongst the most exciting prospects in world cricket. His T20 figures are really impressive and he has an SR of 159.36 after nearly 90 matches.
David has played for Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League and has featured in The Hundred and in the Caribbean Premier League. He has had a taste of the IPL, having previously been picked up by RCB.
The Singapore-born batter came into the IPL with a lot of promise but with 106 runs in 6 matches, he has failed to impress on the big stage.

Tamil Nadu leg-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy became an overnight sensation when he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for an astonishing INR 8.4 crore at the auctions prior to IPL 2019, making him the costliest KXIP player then.
He has several variations up his sleeve, and was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020 to beef up their spin bowling department. He did not disappoint and picked 17 wickets in the 2020 IPL season at an average of 20.94.
His bowling highlight was a 5-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals and also bamboozling some of the best batsmen in world cricket throughout the season.
In 2021, he picked a total of 18 wickets. He is KKR’s mystery spinner and an instrumental factor in KKR’s fortunes.
The mystery spinner was retained by KKR for INR 8 crores ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction. The 30-year-old has taken just five wickets at an economy rate of 8.68.

When bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd was snapped by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 7.75 crore – it raised a lot of eyebrows since Shepherd was a relatively new name in Indian cricket circles.
He impressed most in a T20I series against England in the West Indies – where he smashed an unbeaten 44 in just 28 balls in one of the T20Is. He also picked up a 3-wicket haul in the same series thus showcasing his all-round talent.

After a brilliant outing in the U19 World Cup, Mavi was quick to grab attention in the IPL Auction and was ultimately picked up by KKR for a cool 3 crores. He made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 but picked up just 5 wickets.
A stress fracture in his back ruled him out of playing competitive cricket since December 2019 and after spending most of his time in rehab, Mavi was fit and raring to go in the 2020 edition.
He played in 8 games and picked up 9 wickets in the 2020 IPL season and in the 2021 edition, he picked 11 wickets that included a 4-wicket haul against Rajasthan Royals.
KKR have had immense faith in Mavi over the years and was brought back for a whopping INR 7.25 crore. Along with Cummins, Mavi adds depth to the KKR bowling line-up.
