Tamil Nadu leg-spinner Varun Chakaravarthy became an overnight sensation when he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for an astonishing INR 8.4 crore at the auctions prior to IPL 2019, making him the costliest KXIP player then.

He has several variations up his sleeve, and was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020 to beef up their spin bowling department. He did not disappoint and picked 17 wickets in the 2020 IPL season at an average of 20.94.

His bowling highlight was a 5-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals and also bamboozling some of the best batsmen in world cricket throughout the season.

After a brilliant outing in the U19 World Cup, Mavi was quick to grab attention in the IPL Auction and was ultimately picked up by KKR for a cool 3 crores. He made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 but picked up just 5 wickets.

A stress fracture in his back ruled him out of playing competitive cricket since December 2019 and after spending most of his time in rehab, Mavi was fit and raring to go in the 2020 edition.

He played in 8 games and picked up 9 wickets in the 2020 IPL season and in the 2021 edition, he picked 11 wickets that included a 4-wicket haul against Rajasthan Royals.

KKR have had immense faith in Mavi over the years and was brought back for a whopping INR 7.25 crore. Along with Cummins, Mavi adds depth to the KKR bowling line-up.

Shivam Mavi has picked 5 wickets at an economy rate of 10.32. The young pacer has not lived up to his price tag of INR 7.25 crores.
