IPL 2025 Mega Auction Rules, Retention, RTM Regulation

Right after BCCI confirmed a mega auction for the next season, fans started to search for the IPL mega auction 2025 rules and regulations.

IPL 2025 mega auction will be a key event for the teams to revamp their squad but the same will be a burden for some teams who already put a lot of effort into building a team in the last three seasons.

With lots of discussions revolving around the IPL mega auction 2025 rules, BCCI organised an IPL franchise meeting on 31 July 2024 where the teams made multiple suggestions for the auction including a two-year ban on overseas players who skip the tournament after being bought at the auction.

Though IPL franchises make some recommendations, the board will decide. Ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, as of the previous mega auction, the franchise will announce their retained and released players list as per the rules.

Along with the released players, players who met the eligible criteria will register their names for the IPL 2025 mega auction from which the board will list out the qualified players’ names along with their base price ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction date.
