I felt the boys did well to stay relevant, we want to put 100% into our game. We have a few changes. Faf, Tahir, and Shardul in; they replace Watson, Santner, and Karn.

A key match, it’s pretty simple for us, go out, enjoy and win the game. They are both fit and they are both playing (when asked about Mandeep and Mayank). Maxi misses out, Neesham comes in, Arshdeep misses out for Mayank.
My role is to make sure everyone bats around me – we have the firepower in Chris and Pooran, it’s important for us to get a good start.

Kings XI Punjab(KXIP) Batting
KL Rahul and Agarwal get in to the crease to lead KXIP. Chahar opens the attack against KXIP. KXIP is in need to win the match particularly a much-needed victory for the KL Rahul led team.
CSK needs to pick early wickets in order to slow down the KXIP run rate. Finally, Ngidi made the breakthrough by dismissing Mayank Agarwal for 26 runs. At the end of the powerplay, KXIP scored 53 runs for 1 wicket loss.
Gayle who missed his century by a run makes a slow start. Ngidi with a slower delivery dismissed KL Rahul for 29 runs and sent back the dangerous man to the Pavillion. At the end of the 10th over KXIP scored 65 runs for 2 wicket loss.
In the very next over Thakur dismissed Pooran while scoring just 2 runs. CSK bowlers restrict KXIP batsmen to score high by putting pressure on strikers. KXIP struggles to make a partnership with the universal boss is on strike.
Tahir finally proves his worth by dismissing Gayle for 12 runs. KXIP struggles and in need to make a partnership that could boost the run rate. Deepak Hooda finally join hands with Mandeep Singh and pumps the KXIP score beyond 100.
Jadeja with a flatter delivery breaks the partnership by dismissing Mandeep Singh for 14 runs. But Hooda remains aggressive and drags KXIP to score 153 runs for 6 wicket loss.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and du Plessis get in to the crease to chase down the target of 153. CSK strikers make a slow start in order to make a good opening partnership. While KXIP seeks early wickets to make change the victory wind flow towards them.
While Faf and Gaikwad make 57 runs for no wicket loss at the end of the powerplay. KXIP is in pressure to break the partnership to slow down the CSK’s run rate. Jordan finally in the 10th over dismissed Faf and makes the much-needed break for the KXIP. At the end of the 10th over CSK scored 84 runs for 1 wicket loss.
Ruturaj Gaikwad’s controversy catch
Ambati Rayudu gets in to join hands with Ruturaj. CSK is in need to make a match-winning partnership while the required run rate is very much nearer to their current RR. Gaikwad leads CSK to win the last two matches and expects to do the same in this match.
Ruturaj with his third consecutive fifty of the tournament pumps CSK score to 130 runs for 1 wicket loss at the end of the 16th over. With Ruturaj’s impressive performance CSK finishes the tournament with a victory.
