Jason Roy – Delhi Capitals
England opening batsman Jason Roy had opted out of the upcoming 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to personal reasons. Delhi Capitals had roped in Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams as a replacement for Roy.
Kane Richardson – Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Kane Richardson had decided to pull out of the 13th season of the cash-rich league in order to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Australian right-arm leg-spinner Adam Zampa was named as Richardson’s replacement.
Harry Gurney – Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harry Gurney was earlier ruled out of the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 due to a shoulder injury. Gurney had featured in eight matches for the Kolkata-based franchise last season and bagged a total of seven wickets for them.
Chris Woakes – Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals’ all-rounder Chris Woakes had earlier withdrawn from the upcoming Indian Premier League edition in order to stay fresh ahead of England’s home Test summer season.
The England bowler, a 150 lakh (160,000) signing for the Delhi Capitals at December 2019 auction, has not played a T20 since August 2018. South African speedster Anrich Nortje has been named as Woakes’ replacement for the 13th season of the tournament.
Lasith Malinga – Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians pace spearhead Lasith Malinga will miss the upcoming 13th edition of the lucrative T20 tournament, which is slated to take place in the UAE from September 19 to November 10.
The 36-year-old Sri Lankan bowler reportedly wants to be by the side of his father who is not keeping well. Australian speedster James Pattinson has been named as Malinga’s replacement for the tournament.

Harbhajan Singh – Chennai Super Kings
In another major blow to Chennai Super Kings (CSK), senior off-spinner Harbhajan Singh became the second high-profile name after Suresh Raina to pull out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 citing “personal reasons”.
Taking to Twitter, Harbhajan made the announcement and requested privacy. ” Dear Friends I will not be playing IPL this year due to personal reasons. These are difficult times and I would expect some privacy as I spend time with my family.
CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL Stay safe and Jai Hind,” he had tweeted. Harbhajan is one of the most successful bowlers in the history of IPL with 150 wickets.
Suresh Raina – Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) batsman Suresh Raina had last month pulled out of the upcoming 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) due to ‘personal reasons’.The Chennai-based franchise took to its official Twitter handle to confirm that Raina had returned to India and will miss the entire 13th season of the lucrative T20 tournament.
“Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time,” CSK wrote quoting a statement from CEO KS Viswanathan.
CSK will kickstart their campaign against Mumbai Indians on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.
