As per IPL Schedule 2023, RCB were scheduled to play the 36th league game of the tournament against KKR on April 26 in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
KKR’s opening batter Jason Roy who scored 56 runs off 29 balls was handed a fine for breaching IPL’s code of conduct. Roy left frustrated after getting out and hit one of the bails with the bat right after his dismissal.
Regarding the Fine, IPL official statement reads: “Kolkata Knight Riders batter Jason Roy has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
Mr Roy admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding”.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opt to bowl where KKR openers Jason Roy and N Jagadeesan where the duo scored 83 runs for the first wicket loss. Jason Roy scored the highest run for KKR, scoring 56 runs off 29 deliveries Roy provided a great start to the team.
KKR scored 200 runs for 5 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs. RCB batters struggle to build a partnership during the run chase. Virat Kohli is the only batter to score a half-century in the RCB’s batting line.
RCB lost the match by 21 runs and registers their 4th defeat of the tournament. With the victory, KKR ended their losing streak who lost their last 4 games.
KKR will play their next game against Gujarat Titans on April 29 in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
