GT Captain in IPL 2025: The 2022 winners Gujarat Titans had a disappointing campaign during the 2024 season as they finished in the 8th place with a win percentage of 41.67%.
Gujarat failed to qualify for the playoffs as they managed to win only five games out of the 14 league matches.
After securing the title in their inaugural season in 2022, they completed as runners in the 2023 season.
With an interesting turn of events, Gujarat has retained five players ahead of the auction.

GT captain in IPL 2025: The 2022 seasonal winners Gujarat Titans have retained Shubman Gill as their captain ahead of the mega auction.
After Hardik Pandya moved to MI ahead of the IPL 2024 season, Shubman Gill has been named as the captain of the franchise. Ahead of IPL 2022 auction, Gill was drafted by the newly formed franchise for INR 8 crore.
Shubman Gill scored 483 runs in 2022 season where the side defeated Rajasthan Royals in the finals to win the title. He has a tremendous IPL season in 2023, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches at a strike rate of 157.80.
But his 2024 outing was not upto the mark as he scored only 426 runs in 12 matches.

With a total of INR 51 Crore having been used for the retention, the Gujarat franchise will be moving into the mega auction with a remaining purse value of INR 69 Crore.

The IPL governing council has decided to organize IPL 2025 mega auction between November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.
