SRH spent INR 22 crores for the retaining process and enters the mega auction with a purse value of INR 68 crores.
Earlier to the IPL 2022 Auction all 8 existing teams announced their retained players list and released the remaining players to the auction pool from which the 2 new IPL teams are allowed to draft a maximum of 3 players each.
According to which, Lucknow Super Giants ropes KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and uncapped player Ravi Bishnoi. Where Gujarat Titans picked Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill as their drafted players.

Expensive Players of SRH in IPL 2022 Auction
West Indies all-rounder Nicholas Pooran is the only player for whom SRH spend INR 10+ crores in the mega auction. SRH roped the all-rounder for a whopping amount of INR 10.75 crores in the mega auction.

Nicholas Pooran
The southpaw from Trinidad is amongst an elite group of players that includes Clive Lloyd, Viv Richards, Brian Lara and a few others to score a century in the World Cup for West Indies.
In February 2017, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians team for the 2017 Indian Premier League for INR 30 lakhs but didn’t play any match in the whole season. Pooran went unsold in the 2018 IPL auction after setting his base price at INR 50 lakhs.
In December 2018, he was bought by the Kings XI Punjab in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League for 4.2 crores. Pooran had an excellent IPL 2020 season as he scored a total of 353 runs in the 14 matches he played in the season.
In the 2022 IPL Auction, Pooran was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹10.75 crores.

Washington Sundar
In 2017, he was selected by Rising Pune Supergiant as a replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin. He made his Twenty20 debut for Rising Pune Supergiants in the 2017 Indian Premier League on 22 April 2017.
He had received the man-of-the-match award in IPL 2017 Qualifier 1 played between Mumbai Indians and Pune Supergiants, in which he took 3 wickets for 16 runs.
He holds the record for the best bowling figures in an IPL final. In January 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL auction.
