    Shreyas Iyer Fined After his Team Maintained a Slow Over-rate

    Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer has been fined Rs 12 lakh after his team maintained a slow over-rate against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Tuesday.

    Given that this was his first offense of the season, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offense.

    “Delhi Capitals Captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi on 29 September 2020,” an IPL release stated.

    “As it was his team’s first offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakh,” it added.

    Earlier Royal Challengers Skipper Virat Kohli was found guilty of his team maintaining a slow over-rate against Kings XI Punjab and was also fined Rs 12 lakh.

    Iyer Emerges as Successful Skipper

    Delhi Capitals faces their first loss after two consecutive wins off the first two matches in IPL 2020 tournament. Shreyas Iyer who leads Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 emergers as one of the successful IPL captains.

    Delhi Capitals has been pushed to second position in the IPL points table after Mumbai Indians retain the first position after beating KXIP.

    Delhi Capitals made their first win by beating Kings XI Punjab in super Overmatch. Followed by defeating the mighty CSK by 44 runs made DC as one of the successful teams of the tournament.

    But DC fails to show up while facing Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi lost to Sunrisers by 15 runs at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium on Tuesday.

    Opener Jonny Bairstow’s sublime fifty was complemented by a stellar bowling effort from spinner Rashid Khan as SRH outplayed DC to register their maiden victory in the 13th edition of the league.

    Chasing 163 to maintain a clean slate, DC was slow off the blocks and struggled to force the pace for a major part of their innings.
