CSK Retained And Released Players 2023: Chennai Super Kings who hold the 9th position in the previous year’s IPL points table will definitely seek to rebuild their squad strength after their early elimination in the last season.
CSK have struggled right from the start of the 2022 league as of in the 2020 edition which was played in UAE. In both seasons there is one more thing that is common and that is the absence of star batter, Suresh Raina.
Apart from missing the service of Suresh Raina, another thing that strikes the camp was the captaincy change. Right before the start of the tournament, MS Dhoni stepped down from his captaincy role while CSK named Jadeja as new skipper.
Under Jadeja’s captaincy, the CSK registered their first victory in their fifth match of the tournament which is against RCB which forced Jadeja to handover the captaincy back to MS Dhoni. Chennai Super Kings only managed to win 4 games out of the 14 matches they played in the IPL 2022 season.
