Mukesh Choudhary’s Replacement For IPL 2023: 4 times champions Chennai Super Kings have announced Rajasthan-born left-arm bowler Akash Singh as the replacement player for injured Mukesh Choudhary.

Akash made his Twenty20 debut on 9 November 2019, for Rajasthan in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Before his T20 debut, he represented the India under-19 cricket team in the 2019 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup in September 2019.
He made his List A debut on 23 February 2021, for Rajasthan in the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the IPL 2020 auction, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals but was released before the next auction. Singh was bought again by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021 auction.
Akash Singh was left unsold in the IPL 2022 mega auction as well as in IPL 2023 Auction.
“Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday named Akash Singh as a replacement for injured Mukesh Choudhary,” said IPL in a release.

“Mukesh, who made his IPL debut last season and scalped 16 wickets, is recovering from a stress fracture and hence, is side-lined from the 16th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL)”.
“Akash Singh, who was a part of India’s Under-19 World Cup team in 2020, previously played for Rajasthan Royals. The left-arm pacer has thus far played 9 T20s in addition to 9 List A matches and five First-Class games and has 31 wickets against his name. He joins CSK for INR 20 Lakh”, the report reads.
As per IPL 2023 schedule, CSK will play the first match of the season against defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31 in Ahmedabad.
