Afghanistan fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi has been roped in by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as a net bower for IPL 2021. The youngster left for India on Wednesday to join the CSK squad which is currently training in Mumbai ahead of the 14 edition of the Indian Premier League.

Farooqi is a left-arm seamer who has who made his T20I debut for Afghanistan a few days ago against Zimbabwe.
CSK roped Hardus Viljoen as Net Bowler
Earlier Chennai Super Kings have roped in former Punjab Kings pacer Hardus Viljoen as a net bowler for IPL 2021.
In a recent video released by the franchise, Viljoen was seen bowling to the CSK batsmen. Viljoen had registered himself for this year’s IPL auction at a base price of Rs 50 lakh but his name was not called up during the auction. He was previously a part of the Punjab Kings in IPL.

Viljoen has also been part of IPL as a player. He had first joined Punjab Kings for Rs 75 lakhs in IPL 2019 auction. The right-arm pacer scalped 7 wickets in 6 matches. He was retained by the franchise for IPL 2020 but remained on the bench.

In the IPL 2021 players’ auction held on February 18, Chennai bought the likes of Moeen Ali and K Gowtham.
- England All-rounder Moeen Ali has been purchased for Rs. 7 Crores.
- Krishnappa Gowtham has been roped for Rs. 9.25 Crores.
- Harisankar Reddy roped for Rs. 20 Lakhs.
- Bhagvath Varma roped for Rs. 20 Lakhs.
- Cheteshwar Pujara roped for Rs. 50 Lakhs.
CSK has won the IPL thrice and is regarded as one of the most successful franchises in T20 history. CSK will start their season against runners-up Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 10.
