Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) won their third title in the Indian Premier League(IPL) by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) in the IPL 2024 final in Chennai.
KKR has won the IPL title a total of three times in the cash-rich league tournament’s history – 2012, 2014, and 2024. With their third title, KKR became the first team to win the IPL title under different captains (2012 and 2014 under Gautam Gambhir and 2024 under Shreyas Iyer).

Kolkata Knight Riders will miss the key person behind their success in the last season. As Gautam Gambhir was named as the head coach of the Indian Men’s cricket team, KKR will miss the service of their former skipper for the IPL 2025 season.
