Gujarat Titans won their maiden IPL trophy in their debut season in the 2022 IPL and ended as runner-up of the next season. With the victory in the IPL 2022 final, Gujarat Titans became the second team to win the IPL title in their first season after Rajasthan Royals in 2008.
The franchise faced a dip in their performance in the IPL 2024 season after they traded their captain Hardik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians for INR 15 crore.
CVC Capital Partners and Torrent Group jointly own the franchise and the team is currently captained by Shubman Gill. In October 2024, CVC captains sold a 64% stake in the Gujarat Titans to Torrent Group, making them the majority stakeholder of the franchise.
