Brad Haddin and Charl Langeveldt Named in PBKS Coaching Staff list
Earlier Punjab Kings named Trevor Bayliss as their new head coach for the IPL 2023 season. Trevor Bayliss replaces Anil Kumble as head coach after the former Indian cricketer failed to progress the team to the IPL play-offs three consecutive times.
Along with Anil Kumble, the franchise removed other coaching staff including Jonty Rhodes. Andrew Leipus, the franchise’s physio is the only one who survived the revamp.
Along with the coaching staff changes, Punjab Kings have also named Shikhar Dhawan as their new skipper for the IPL 2023 season. Dhawan will replace Mayank Agarwal who has less captaincy experience than Dhawan.

Earlier Dhawan captained the Indian cricket team in a three-match One-Day International series against South Africa. Dhawan has been named captain of the Indian side for the ODI series against New Zealand.
Ness Wadia, co-owner of the franchise, believes Shikhar is the “right man to lead the team in the coming season”. He said that he is confident that the team can reach the semifinals.
“The board and the head coach have felt that it is time for a change of direction and leadership and Shikhar being the national captain (of the ODI team), it was felt that he is the right man to lead the team in the coming season. We are confident under him and Trevor, the team will make the last four,” Ness Wadia, the co-owner of the franchise said.
Wadia, however, was non-committal on Mayank Agarwal, who led the side in the previous season. “At this point, we have not taken any decision on retention or the release of the players. There are two more weeks for that (the teams can release the players by November 15),” he said
