IPL 2023 Auction Date, New Purse Value and Tournament Date

IPL 2023 Auction Date: BCCI is planning to hold the IPL 2023 mini-auction on December 23 in Kochi.

IPL 2023 Auction Date

Ahead of every season, BCCI will host the auction event so that teams can re-built their teams as their need for the tournament. Dates for the league are still not known but it is likely to start in the fourth week of March with the home and away format restored.

The salary purse for the auction will be INR 95 crore, 5 crores more from last year, which means each team will have reserves of at least INR 5 crores to start with. The purse can further swell if a franchise releases its players or trades them.

The IPL 2023 mini-auction is set to take place on December 23 at Kochi.

If the auction takes place in December it will mean to be the 2nd IPL auction in a year. This year’s mega auction(IPL 2022 mega Auction) took place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Such a scenario has already happened in the IPL history on an occasion.

In January 2018, the BCCI held a mega-auction for the 11th season of the league. In December 2018, a mini-auction was held for IPL 2019.
