We are gonna bowl. The pitch looks similar but it feels a little bit tacky. A lot of positives, to get through the first 3-4 overs was challenging, to hold our composure and get a fifty stand was a very positive thing and then the way we batted right through.
From bowling perspective, in the first game you are expected not to get everything perfect. It’s about learning from those small things we could have done better.
Same XI. Nice to start the tournament like that, but there’s plenty of games, have to restart and re-focus again. Hopefully I can do it again.

I would have loved to bowl as well. Dew plays a massive role. The bowlers did an amazing job, made it easy for the batsmen. Now it’s going to be a test for us to come in and bat and see to it that we get a good total.
It’s just a work of execution. Tim Southee is coming in for Mavi. That’s the only change we are making. Tim carries a lot of experience, Mavi is a youngster and has done well for the franchise. It was a management decision, we sat together and decided that let’s go with experience.
I am (enjoying the captaincy), the management has been fantastic, they have been really supportive. I am really enjoying. We need to carry forward this momentum into the next games.

Kolkata Knight Riders Batting
Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer gets into the crease to lead KKR while Willey opens the bowling attack.
Akash Deep in the 4th over of the innings dismissed Venkatesh Iyer for 10 runs and draws the first blood for the KKR. Soon in the very next over Siraj dismissed Rahane for 9 runs while Nitish Rana loses his wicket in the very next over.
At the end of the 6 overs KKR scored 44 runs for 3 wickets loss. The much expected Shreyas Iyer loses his wicket in the followed over for 13 runs.
Sunil Narine and Sam Billings join hands and lead the side but Hasaranga in the 9th over scatters KKR’s hope by dismissing Narine and Jackson in back to back deliveries.
At the end of the 10 overs, KKR scored 76 runs for 6 wickets loss. KKR’s last hope of scoring a decent target goes in vain after Harshal Patek dismissed Russell for 25 runs. At the end of the 19 overs, KKR scored 128 runs for 10 wickets loss.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Batting
Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat gets into the crease while Umesh Yadav opens the bowling attack.
Umesh Yadav in the very first over dismissed Anuj for duck and start the innings as expected. Southee in the next over dismissed Faf for 5 runs while Virat loses his wicket in the next over to Umesh for 12 runs.
Back-to-back wickets load pressure on the chasing team. Sherfane Rutherford and David Willey join hands and are in need to build a massive partnership which could lead the team to a safer zone.
At the end of the 6 overs, RCB scored 36 runs for 3 wickets loss. KKR struggled to break the well-settled partnership. Narine in the 11th over dismissed Willey for 18 runs and breaks the partnership.
At the end of the 15 overs, RCB scored 93 runs for 4 wickets loss. With 7 needed of 6 balls, Dinesh Karthik hits a six and a boundary and won the match by 3 wickets.
