We are gonna bowl first. We are comfortable chasing with a set target in mind. All the teams are equally good and we always have to take that winning mindset and try and back your abilities. We got two changes. Pat Cummins comes in place of Southee and Rasikh Salam comes in for Shivam Mavi. Southee was very supportive and we had a good conversation about the team changes.
Rohit Sharma
We were looking to bat first. We are not looking at what happened in the last 2 games, we have to play good cricket to win games and that is what we are prepared for. Looks like a good pitch. We have done well in patches and when you want to win games you gotta perform collectively and I think that is something that was missing in the last 2 games. Couple of changes. Surykumar Yadav comes in place of Anmolpreet Singh and we got Dewald Brevis who comes in for Tim David.

Mumbai Indians Batting
Rohit and Ishan Kishan gets into the crease to lead Mumbai Indians while Umesh Yadav opens the bowling attack.
Umesh Yadav in the 3rd over makes a huge wicket by dismissing Rohit Sharma for 3 runs. Debutant Dewald Brevis on joining hands with Ishan Kishan makes some huge shots and leads MI to score 35 runs for 1 wicket loss at the end of the 6 overs.
Brevis loses his wicket for 29 runs after a sharp wicketkeeping work from Billings. The youngster scored 29 runs off 19 deliveries. Cummins in the 11th over makes an huge impact by dismissing Ishan Kishan for 14 runs.
With triple sixes from Pollard off the last over MI scored 161 runs for 4 wickets loss.
Kolkata Knight Riders Batting
Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer get into the crease to lead KKR to chase down the target of 162 runs while Basil Thampi opens the bowling attack.
Though KKR made a slow start the openers struggles to strike the ball towards the boundary. Tymal Mills in the 5th over dismissed Rahane for 7 runs while Daniel Sams in the followed over dismissed Shreyas Iyer for 10 runs where KKR scored 35 runs for 2 wickets loss at the end of the powerplay.
Murugan Ashwin puts an end to Sam Billing’s aggressive knock in the 10 over where KKR scored 67 runs for 3 wickets loss.
KKR’s scope of chasing down the target scatters when Tymal Mills dismissed Russell for 11 runs. Venkatesh Iyer and Pat Cummins made an unbelievable partnership where Pat Cummins registers the fastest IPL half-century in IPL by reaching the feat in just 14 deliveries.
KKR finally manages to beat MI in 16 overs and crowns the victory by beating MI by 5 wickets.

I probably think I’m most surprised by that innings. I’m glad that it came off. I was thinking of having a swing if it was in my area. Wasn’t trying to overthink it. Very satisfying to do it on my first game this season. Was just trying to pepper the shorter boundary. The hard thing after a big auction is that there are a lot of changes from last year. It’s a good mix of talent out there and quite relaxed with the boys.
