We are going to break the trend and have a bat first. Obviously it is a day game, heat is one factor and I find that when you field first the boys are cooked by the time it is our turn to bat. But hopefully the wicket will get little bit slower.

Couple of games in the tournament does not make you a bad team. There is still some high class quality players, so keep trusting them and knowing things will change around the corner.

With experience you know that the answer does not lie in the nets, it is just clarity in your own mind and calmness. Same team. No, one change – we have a leftie (Lomror) coming in.

    Hardik Pandya | GT Captain

Thank you (on being congratulated for playing his 100th IPL game). To be honest when I went to have a few knocks I thought I have come a long way. 2015 when it all started and today leading the side, proud of myself.

We would have liked to bat first as well because of the heat. The wicket won’t change much. It is just about how we manage our intensity and don’t get overcooked. The boys had a couple of hits and it was all about recovery.

We have made two changes, one forced as Yash Dayal has a niggle, Pradeep Sangwan comes in and for Abhinav Manohar, Sai Sudharsan comes in.

I can’t say that I stay cool during chases, but a lot of things will be going beneath, as to how to take it forward, which bowler to target and which areas to hit. I then try and follow the plans. In the death overs, you’d need to play some pre-planned shots, but I certainly look at the field and then look at the ball before hitting.

So, if the ball is outside off, I will look to go over the off-side, if it’s on the stumps, I play the leg-side shots. I have bettered my off-side game during this tournament, the bowlers had planned to keep fielders in the off-side, so I knew it I could hit the gaps, I could get the boundaries, I have opened up both sides of the ground now.

You have to finish games, never mind the target. The pitches have been really good, you can chase even 60 runs off the final 5 overs. I have spent a lot of time with him (Miller), we were together at PBKS for a year, with RR for a couple of years, so we have a good bonding, we talk about finishing games even in the nets. I have the belief in myself that I can finish games as long as I stay in the middle.
