Indian wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan holds the top position in the list of most expensive players in IPL 2022 mega auction. Notably, Kishan becomes the second-highest-paid Indian player in the IPL auction history next to former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan – wicketkeeper-batsman: Kishan made his IPL debut in 2016, where he was roped by Gujarat Lions in the 2016 IPL auction.
In 2018, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction. Kishan scored 275 runs in the IPL 2018 with an average of 22.91. He only got a chance to play in 7 matches of the IPL 2019.
Kishan’s career changed in the IPL 2020 season where he scored 516 runs and becomes the highest run-scorer for the Mumbai Indians. He also won the most sixes award of the season.
In IPL 2021 he scored 241 runs on featuring in 10 matches. In total Kishan scored 1452 runs in IPL with the highest score of 99 runs.
Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar – Bowler: In January 2018, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 IPL auction. In the 2018 season, Chahar on playing 12 matches have picked 10 wickets and becomes a key player of the 2018 IPL winning team.
In the 2019 season Chahar picked 22 wickets on playing 17 matches. In 2020, Chahar picked 12 wickets where CSK filed to enter into qualify. In the followed season Chahar picked 14 wickets and plays an important role in CSK’s fourth IPL trophy-winning season.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer – Batsman: In February 2015, Iyer was signed in the 2015 IPL players auction by the Delhi Daredevils for 2.6 crores (approximately $430,000). Thus Iyer became the highest-earning uncapped player in the tournament.
He scored 439 runs in 14 matches, with a 33.76 average and a strike rate of 128.36, making Iyer the 9th most consistent player and Emerging Player of 2015 IPL.
Iyer was retained by Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL Auction. On 25 April 2018, he was announced as the new captain of Delhi Daredevils replacing Gautam Gambhir.
On 27 April 2018, he became the youngest captain to lead the Delhi Daredevils team in the IPL history at the age of 23 years and 142 days during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders and was also the fourth overall youngest to captain any IPL side.
On his IPL captaincy debut, Shreyas Iyer smashed an unbeaten match-winning knock of 93 off 40 deliveries with 10 sixes, which was his third successive IPL fifty of the season to power DD to a heavy total of 219/5 in the first innings of the match before earning him the man of the match award.
Under his captaincy, Delhi Daredevils managed to defeat KKR by 55 runs to secure only their second win of the tournament. Iyer was retained by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2019 season which he led the team into the playoffs for the first time after seven years.
In the 2020 season, he continued as the captain for Delhi Capitals and he also led them to their maiden IPL final against the Mumbai Indians. Iyer scored an unbeaten 65 off 50 balls in a losing effort as Mumbai Indians won the final.
He missed the half-season of IPL 2021 due to an injury in his Left Shoulder while playing for India in the first match of an ODI series against England in the same year. He made his comeback after a span of 6 months for Delhi Capitals.
Iyer in his so far IPL career scored 2375 runs with the highest score of 96 runs at an average of 31.66.
Liam Livingstone
In December 2018, Livingstone was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. He was released by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2020 IPL auction.
At the inaugural season of The Hundred Liam Livingstone was named Player of the tournament after scoring his 348 runs at a strike rate of 178.46.
He also took five wickets in the tournament and underscored his bowling pedigree with figures of 2 for 22 in the T20 WC semifinal against New Zealand.
Incidentally, Dan Weston, the analyst at Livingstone’s Birmingham Phoenix reprises the same role at Punjab Kings.
England all-rounder Liam Livingstone was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 11.5 crore in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Livingstone was the costliest buy on Day 2 of the auction.
Wanindu Hasaranga
Sri Lanka-born right-handed bowling all-rounder was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 mega auction. Wanindu Hasaranga kept a base price of Rs. 1 crore ahead of the auction. He played as a replacement player for Adam Zampa in Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last edition.
In August 2021, Hasaranga was included in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the second phase of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE. He made his IPL debut on 20 September 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
During India’s tour to Sri Lanka in July 2021, Wanindu Hasaranga gained the limelight after winning the player of the series award in India vs Sri Lanka T20I series. He also played a leading role for his team to win the T20I series 2-1.
