We’ll look to bowl first. Just a team plan, nothing specific. It’s a good pitch to bat on, so pretty simple actually. As a team we do understand where we stand at the moment and we also understand that we haven’t played to the best of our potential.
We know where we’ve made mistakes and hopefully we can correct it tonight. Because of where we stand at the moment, we have had to make some difficult changes which we didn’t want to do. A couple of changes: Ishan goes out and Tiwary comes in and NCN comes in for Milne.
KL Rahul
I was a bit confused at the toss. Don’t mind batting first and we need to assess what a good total would be. Not much to fix, it’s important to realize that we are a team that has capitalized on good starts. We haven’t handled pressure really well.
But when our backs are against the wall, we have done really well. We need to be a bit brave and trust our instincts. We need to trust our basics and not worry about the results. Just one change: Mayank has a stiff back and so he misses out. Mandeep Singh comes in.

Punjab Kings Batting
KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh open the innings for Punjab Kings while Krunal Pandya opens the bowling attack.
The duo struggles to withstand the Mumbai Indian’s bowling attack. Krunal Pandya bags the first wicket and breaks the partnership. Krunal Pandya dismissed Mandeep Singh for 15 runs while PBKS scored 36 runs.
Soon in the followed over Pollard dismissed Gayle for just 1 run. Pollard bags another wicket off the same over in the form of KL Rahul’s wicket. PBKS struggles to make a partnership and loses wickets in regular intervals of time.
Markram and Deepak Hooda make a partnership that saves PBKS from getting low scores. The duo added 61 runs partnership for their next wicket. Rahul Chahar finally dismissed Markram for 42 runs while PBKS scored 109 runs.
Deepak Hooda with his struggled 28 runs leads PBKS to score 135 runs for 6 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians Batting
Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock opens the batting attack to chase down the target of 135 runs. Markram opens the bowling attack against MI.
The dangerous duo struggles to make quick-fire runs in the powerplay and loses the wicket of the skipper. Ravi Bishnoi in the very next dismissed Suryakumar Yadav for a golden duck.
de Kock and Saurabh Tiwary join hands and makes 45 runs partnership which makes the MI score to 61 runs. Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya join hands and lead the MI.
While the duo makes the steady innings Nathan Ellis breaks the partnership by dismissing Tiwary for 45 runs. Still, MI has Kieron Pollard and Hardik on strike. The duo leads the team to beat PBKS by 6 wickets.

Very important to get my 300th wicket. I know what I can do in all the facets of the game. I will be more than happy to do what the team needs of me. You try and watch and target whom you can target and not.
I enjoyed my 300th wicket which was KL and obviously it’s a landmark and very special. For me, it’s just of trying to practice and it’s all about practicing and batting according to the situation.
I admit that I don’t have pace, swing, and seam but I can use my brain and get the job done. For us it’s very important to get these 2 points and hopefully, this will be the much-needed spark in the dressing room.
