Kolkata Knight Riders Batting
Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer walks down to the crease to lead KKR while D Chahar opens the bowling attack.
Shubman Gill starts to hit back-to-back boundaries of the first over but soon walks to the pavilion after a direct hit run out from Rayudu. Rahul Tripathi walks and joins hands with Venky, CSK needs to break this partnership before they make a strong base for the team.
At the end of 5 overs, KKR scored 50 runs for 1 wicket loss. Thakur gets in to bowl his first over and dismissed Venky off the very first delivery. Venkatesh Iyer took the players review but the decision ends up in CSK’s favour.
Thakur ends the power play with a maiden over along with a wicket. KKR skipper Eoin joins hands with Tripathi. Morgan after facing 14 deliveries lost his wicket to Hazlewood after scoring 8 runs.
The long-standing batsman Tripathi loses his wicket to Jadeja after scoring 45 runs off 33 deliveries. The muscle man Russell fails to give the expected run contribution and walks to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs.
With Dinesh Karthik’s quickfire 26 runs off 11 deliveries, KKR scored 171 runs for 6 wickets loss at the end of the 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings Batting
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis walks in to lead the CSK to chase down the target of 171 runs while Prasidh opens the bowling attack.
The duo makes a steady partnership with the expected run rate. The duo added 74 runs for their first wicket down. Russell draws the first blood for the CSK by dismissing Gaikwad for 40 runs.
After Gaikwad’s dismissal, Faf took the charge and carries the momentum but soon loses his wicket to Prasidh while scoring 43 runs. Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu joins hand and in pressure to build the match-winning partnership.
Soon Narine dismissed Ambati Rayudu for 10 runs and added pressure over the CSK team. Lockie Ferguson dismissed Moeen at a very crucial point in the CSK’s run chase. While every CSK fans expect a match-winning partnership from MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, the duo turns down the CSK fans by dismissing for 1 and 11 run.
A quick-fire 22 runs off 8 deliveries from Jadeja plays a very key part in CSK’s run chase in the slow ground. Making it a nail bit moment CSK were in need of 1 run off the last delivery which is successfully scored by Deepak Chahar and CSK registered their 3rd consecutive victory in UAE.
