Shikhar Dhawan became the first batsman in IPL history to score back-to-back centuries. Earlier this he was the player with the highest number of matches played(167) without scoring an IPL century.
A New Low For KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders managed just 84/8 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2020. This is the lowest a team has scored while batting full 20 overs in IPL history.
Rahul registers the highest score by a captain
KL Rahul scored his second IPL century, smacking an unbeaten 132 against RCB. This is the highest score by a captain in IPL history.
Consecutive Maiden Overs
RCB’s right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj became the first player in IPL history to have bowled two consecutive maiden overs. Not just maiden overs, he picked up two back-to-back wicket maidens as he picked up two wickets in his first and one in his second over respectively.
A New High For CSK
Chennai Super Kings openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson added 181 runs as a partnership against KXIP in a 10-wicket win. This is the highest total for the first wicket in CSK history.
They broke a nine-year-old record of 159 runs by Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay. It is also the fourth-highest opening partnership in IPL history.
MS Dhoni scripts 100 wins as skipper for Chennai
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni became the first to notch 100 wins for a single franchise in the competition.
Dhoni achieved his 100th IPL win against Mumbai Indians in the opening encounter of the season. Meanwhile, Dhoni also went past 100 career IPL catches this season.
Warner becomes the first player to notch 50 fifty-plus scores
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner became the first batsman in IPL history to notch 50 fifty-plus scores. Warner has registered 46 IPL fifties, besides also having four centuries under his belt. The next best is RCB captain Virat Kohli, who has notched 43 fifty-plus scores.
Anrich Nortje records fastest ball in IPL history
Nortje has recorded the top three fastest deliveries in the history of the IPL. Nortje’s fastest delivery which was timed at 156.2 kmph broke Dale Steyn’s record of 154.4 kmph. His second-fastest is 155.21 kmph.
