Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach for the Indian team on November 03, 2012 with a two year contract. With the contract expired, he has other options to work for in the future after India’s defeat in the World Cup 2023. India was one of the successful teams in the World Cup campaign but, suffered a defeat in the finals against Australia.
Following this defeat, the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid is reportedly set to join Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor for the upcoming IPL season 2024.
BCCI is planning to discuss with Dravid to know his future course of action, but he shown the hints of not seeking an extension of the contract with BCCI. Rahul Dravid is likely to spend time with his family which won’t be possible if he continues to head coach the Indian side. BCCI is looking to appoint the legendary batter VVS Laxman as the new head coach for the Indian team.
The former captain who previously worked with the IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals is unsure about the extension of the contract with BCCI to coach Indian team and could joins LSG as a mentor.
LSG franchise bid goodbye to Gautam Gambhir and is searching for new Mentor. The sources have revealed that Rahul Dravid is getting offers from LSG and there is a high chance for the legend to accept the deal.
