Winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first and scored 255 runs for 4 wickets loss at the end of day 1. Usman Khawaja remains unbeaten after scoring 104 runs from 251 balls. On the other hand, Indian bowler Mohammed Shami bagged 2 wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jadeja each bagged a wicket.
