Harbhajan blames Umpires for PAK’s defeat

South Africa won the match against Pakistan with one wicket on October 27 at Chepauk Stadium. Tabraiz Shamsi was adjudged not out by the field umpire in Haris Rauf’s final delivery in the match where Pakistan needed a wicket to with with 19 balls remaining and four runs to defend.

The DRS review showed the ball clipping the leg stumps, yet Shamsi survived on the umpire’s call.

On this occasion, the former Cricketer Harbhajan Singh was furious about the decision which resulted in Pakistan’s one-wicket defeat.

He shared a post in X (twitter) on the incident saying, “The spat started when Harbhajan tweeted “Bad umpiring and bad rules cost Pakistan this game.. @ICC should change this rule .. if the ball is hitting the stump that’s out whether umpire gave out or not out doesn’t matter.. otherwise what is the use of technology???”

Harbhajan also slammed the former England cricketer Nasser Hussain who alleged that he was paid to speak in favour of the DRS technology and prove why Kohli wasn’t right.

“Paid to speak for tech to show tech is right. He is suggesting tech is right, @imVkohli isn’t, because tech must have paid the broadcaster to show how important is tech .. OK if the tech is right go with tech Why do u need umpires to stick to their own decisions? Utterly nonsense .. use 1 tech or umpire.. don’t make people fool who love this game blindly,” Harbhajan added.

The Skipper Babar Azam was disappointed with the decision given by on-field umpire and said, “We are very close, we did not finish well. Very disappointing for the whole team. We fought back very well.

In the batting, we were 10-15 short. The fast bowlers and spinners fought well but unfortunately, it was not to be. It is part of the game, in DRS it is part of the game. Had he given it out, it would have favored us.

We have an opportunity to win this and stay in the race but not to be. We will try our best in the next 3 matches put our efforts and play for Pakistan. Let’s see where we will stand after that,” he concluded.

Pakistan have faced four defeats in a row out of six matches they have played so far in the tournament. It is their first four-match defeat in a row in World Cup history which includes defeats against India, Afghanistan, Australia, and South Africa.

While they are still alive for the race to make it to the semifinals, clearing the group stages depends on how things turn out for the other teams.

Pakistan will be playing their next World Cup match against Bangladesh on October 31 at Eden Gardens.
