Virat Kohli discloses why RCB haven’t won any IPL till now

Had it not been for the novel COVID-19 pandemic, Kohli would have been leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League which was slated to commence on March 29.

There is no hiding to the fact that Bangalore are among the three teams (Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals) who have played in the IPL since its inception but are yet to lift a trophy even once. Being asked about the reason by Pietersen, Kohli laid emphasis on needing to get the “joy” back.

“Big players in the team, there will be attention on the team. With big players, we will always be in the focus. We have reached three finals [2009, 2011 and 2016], not won, but then, those things are irrelevant, until you win the title. Even with the best team, we have not win. There is a team goal, we deserve to win the title.

“I think the more you try to do something, it tends to move away from you. I think we need to get the joy back into the team and not try and look to set goals,” Kohli said.
