The final match, which started on Friday (January 1), is being played at the National Stadium in Karachi between Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The other members of the commentary panel also underwent COVID-19 tests in Karachi as they were in close contact with Mir.

The Board has not allowed media representatives to move out of the third floor of the stadium where the commentary box is positioned while the players and officials are not allowed to go upstairs and interact with anyone.

So far, none of the other commentators – including Bazid Khan, Tariq Saeed, Ali Younis, Sikandar Bakhat and presenter Sawera Pasha – have shown any symptoms. A PCB spokesperson confirmed that the entire facility had been disinfected, but a decision on whether or not to isolate everyone else would be taken only after obtaining the test results.
