David Warner regards IPL 2020 Elimination
SRH skipper David Warner admits that poor fielding and catch drops lead them to lose qualifier 2 of IPL 2020. SRH faces Delhi Capitals in qualifier 2 of IPL 2020 where the winning team is scheduled to face MI in the finals.
DC lost the first qualifier match of IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians. DC had a second chance to qualify for the finals as they hold the 2nd position in the IPL 2020 points table at the end of the league matches.
David Warner led SRH qualified for 1st qualifier match after beating RCB in the IPL eliminator match. DC starts the campaign with impressive victories later struggles with back to back losses. While everyone thought that DC would eliminate in qualifier 2 they come back stronger than before.
DC vs SRH – IPL 2020 Qualifier 2
Delhi Capitals smashed SRH’s strong bowling line and scored 189 runs at the end of the first innings. While chasing SRH batting order struck and collapsed by Rabada and Stoinis spell where Rabada took three wickets in the 19th over and proved his worth. Finally, DC beat SRH by 17 runs moves forward to face MI in the finals.
“You can`t win tournaments if you keep dropping catches and missing chances. I think with the ball and the bat we improved after doing badly but our attitude in the field let us down,” said Warner after the match, which SRH lost by 17 runs.
SRH came through tough matches
SRH entered the playoff in a do or die match against MI and eliminated RCB to play qualifier 2 of the IPL 2020.
“First and foremost, no one gave us a chance at the start. Everyone talked of the big three: Mumbai, DC, and RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore). So I am really proud of our campaign,” said Warner.
“(Thangarasu) Natarajan, Rashid (Khan), Manish Pandey have been the positives. That back half in the tournament is how we like to play our cricket. Yes, there were injuries but you have to work with what you have got. I am proud to get where we are today as no one gave us a chance,” he said.
