    IPL 2021 Auction Date, Schedule, Traded, Released Players List

    Times of Sports(TOS) listed the players released and retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 Auction. The heat for IPL 2021 begins a couple of months before its starting date. All the franchises will lookout to strengthen their team by roping new young talented players.

    As the COVID19 pandemic not yet settled BCCI seeks all the possible way to host the IPL 2021 in India. Due to the quarantine protocols, for the 2021 IPL Season, it’s expected that the venues are going to be restricted between 2 to 3 stadiums.

    BCCI hosts the IPL 2020 in UAE behind the closed door. Players are also allowed to practise inside the bio-secure bubble in order to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

    It’s already IPL 2021 but when you Look back at IPL 2020, CSK is the team which was affected by the biosecure protocols. Some players of the CSK teams has been isolated from the teammates owing to the COVID19 infection.

    In addition to this Suresh Raina’s unexpected departure from UAE added pressure over the team’s playing order. With an unbalanced team, CSK starts the tournament in its worst form. Finally, CSK holds a place above the last position in the IPL Points Table.

    IPL 2021 Trade Updates:

    The last date for IPL 2021 trade window set as February 4, 2021. The trading of IPL 2021 was slow, as only RCB and CSK had strengthened their squad through the trade window. They have received players from DC and RR respectively.

    • Royal Challengers Bangalore

      • RCB included players via the IPL 2021 trade window. They got a couple of all-rounders from Delhi Capitals (DC) in Daniel Sams (Australia) and Harshal Patel (India). Harshal Patel has already played for RCB till 2017.
    • Chennai Super Kings

      • CSK received wicket-keeper batsman Robin Uthappa from Rajasthan royals through IPL trade window 2021. CSK is Robin Uthappa’s Sixth IPL franchise. It was evident that RR couldn’t fit in Uthappa in their batting line-up last season. It’s also surprising to see how CSK will utilise Robbie in 14th edition of IPL.

    The players released by CSK in IPL 2021 are as follows:

    Kedar Jadhav, Murali Vijay, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Monu Singh, and Shane Watson(retired).

    Piyush Chawla who costs Rs 6.75 crore, and opener Murali Vijay comes with a salary of Rs 2 crore were released by the franchise.

    The right arm off breaker Harbhajan Singh in his Twitter page made it official. Harbhajan had joined Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2018 season for Rs 2 crore and spent three seasons with the franchise.
