Dhoni – 150th Dismissal
Dhoni at the age of 39 took a stunning single-handed catch to dismiss Sanju Samson which makes his 150th dismissal in IPL. Chahar bowls away on the leg side and found a faint edge and grabbed superbly by Dhoni with one-hand.
The CSK skipper’s age-defying efforts led to swashbuckling batsman Sanju Samson getting dismissed without opening his account in the clash. Even Chahar was left stunned as MS Dhoni pulled off a blinder.
The former Indian cricketer’s skills behind the stumps have received acclamation from all the corners. The catch was yet another testimony to MS Dhoni’s abilities to change the dynamics of a duel with his exquisite glove work.
Suresh Raina Praises Dhoni
After this stunning catch, MSD receives special praise from Suresh Raina who withdrawn from IPL 2020 amid personal reasons. Raina in his Instagram story with a picture of his catch simply quotes as “catch skipper”.
CSK hits the bottom of the points table
The result of the match however did not go in CSK’s as they faced a 7-wicket defeat against RR. Jos Buttler notched up an unbeaten half-century to guide his side to a comfortable win.
Chasing a lowly target of 127 runs to win, Rajasthan Royals lost both their openers Ben Stokes (19) and Robin Uthappa (4) and wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson (0) inside the Powerplay.
Earlier, CSK failed to stitch partnerships throughout their innings and restricted to a score of 125/5 by RR in their stipulated 20 overs. The defeat leads CSK to hit the bottom of the IPL 2020 points table and CSK’s chance of entering the IPL 2020 playoff scatters.
